Do Mice Play (When Cat is Away)

Micah: We are glad to still see some of our posted badges in our travels around the blogs.  It's the "I Was Featured by the FFF" badge for those we have interviewed for Mousebreath.

Rusty:  We were pleased to add Taylor when we resumed the interviews this year, but we sometimes feel a bit sad for those we have had to remove from the badge over the years:  Cameron, Cotton, Crystal.

Cyndi:  We were the fuor "C"s.  I'm the only one left.  I hope we don't have to leave alphabetically for the bridge.  Not that any of us are in any hurry to go.

Taylor:  Or chronologically, since you're the oldest of us felines.  I'm sorry.  I shouldn't have said that, should I?

Cyndi:  No!  You should have said we have a new interview this week with two cats we met recently.

Taylor:  Do the mice really play?

Micah:  What?

Taylor:  Tessa and Kajsa are from the blog When the Cat is Away.

Rusty:  Oh, you want to know if the mice play when the cat is away?

Taylor:  Yes.

Micah:  You'll have to ask Tessa and Kajsa.

Percy:  If you haven't met them yet, you will enjoy the introduction.  You can read their story,Tessa and Kajsa from Helsinki, on Mousebreath.

We are joining the Pet Parade hosted by Rascal and Rocco, Basil the Bionic Cat, Barking from the Bayou and Owned by a husky.

  1. Thank you, Jan, for your kind words on Shawnee's passing. I know what you mean about life getting hectic. We had become negligent on visiting also. All the best.

Oh you cats can tease each other all you like... but there is no rhyme or reason to the length of time we have on this earth. Just hold onto every precious moment. Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

    1. Hehe. Here, our human is a mouse because she plays (has spare time) when we cats aren't bossing her around!

  9. Have no doubt, those Mice certainly do play while the cat is away! Nibbling on the cheese isn't the only trouble they get into, they entertain themselves with all sorts of mischief!

  13. Well, you all certainly find some wonderful kitties to interview. How about an interview with a DOGGY about kitties, haha? So, Marcus, what's your take?

    2. .... it sometimes displays posts after many hours / one day. Don't know why. It's not only your blog - I just realized that I wasn't clear on that one in my comment.

However, it's working most of the time (that's at least what we think!). We use Feedly. We've tried other readers, but always returned to Feedly after a while.

    1. Yepp. Mice! We don't say "human vs cat" on our blog but "cat vs mouse". Because in a way our human is a mouse. This doesn't make any sense, does it?

    1. They will if you don't watch! Be very careful! Also humans lower their standards when they think we're away (e.g. not putting all food away)

  17. We think mice play when they dont know we are around. But that is the best time to surprise them!

  18. Hehe. That's basically what our human does. She thinks Tessa is not around, and leaves her headphones on the table while she goes to the bathroom...

So she thinks she can "play" by being incautious, but hehe, Tessa is really good at spotting unsupervised headphones - even if she's asleep in another room!

  20. We're pretty sure the mice play all the time. It's just that no one sees them when the cats are away. :)

We will go check out your interview now!

    Hugs!
